one: Setting research goals and specifying key research questions are ways to frame the research. It is crucial to identify the data type needed to answer or gain information on the research questions. Organizing the research topic or problem will outline the information needed to provide insight and possibly solve the issue. Identifying needed data and specifying research questions for the proposed topic help align the research to prior studies. Aligning the research topic with the pre-existing study is imperative because it opens the reader to learn further about the topic and provides a clear path for introducing new information. Framing the study with pre-existing literature will clarify the topic and the researcher’s direction. Clarity is essential when presenting the research topic (Creswell,2017). The early analysis aids in providing alignment and valid data in research (Silverman,2022). Theories and prior research may aid in interpreting data during research. Practical data interpretation will help the researcher sort and categorize so that gaps can be identified. Researchers must explain how their research will fill a gap in the topic (Silverman,2022). Information should always be cited to ensure validity and avoid assumptions. The introduction should be organized and explained so a non-specialist can understand (Creswell,2017). Moreover, determining the audience is vital when presenting information (Cresswell,2017). Focusing on a specific audience will help the researcher identify what can be offered and prioritized.

Two:The introduction is a critical component of every dissertation and/or piece of literature. However, an effective introduction must have support from past research to show how it compares and how it can make a significant contribution to a field of study (Creswell et al., 2017, as cited in Wilkinson, 1991). According to Creswell et al. (2017), writing a strong introduction is often done by using the deficiencies model of an introduction. The approach consists of five steps—”state the research problem; review studies that have addressed the problem; indicate deficiencies in the studies; advance the significance of the study for particular audiences; and state the purpose statement” (Creswell et al., 2017, p. 105). The model’s importance is in building upon gaps included in relevant literature to advance the topic of study (Creswell et al., 2017). The importance of framing the study within existing literature shows that there have been previous studies conducted on the research topic and that there is empirical evidence to help support or advance the current study. Incidentally, there may be deficiencies in past literature which, for varying reasons, may no longer be relevant; therefore, the researcher can make corrections and make a unique contribution to the field of study (Creswell et al., 2017). Moreover, the existing literature helps guide new research and involves the reader by contributing to a strong introduction to the research study.
