People get sick of the current useless thing, and then fashion changes the conspicuously useless thing that’s fashionable
Western fashion is particularly patriarchal, women’s clothes are much more conspicuously useless than men’s, their clothes are so useless in fact that their only real goal is to display the amount of wealth their man makes
Anything that displays both pointless changes over time and how much money you have is fashion
